Connect your PayPal Point of Sale account to automatically add donations to your Beacon account from PayPal card readers and POS systems.

PayPal Point of Sale (formerly Zettle) is a payments solution that's most commonly used for taking payments in person, or "point of sale" (POS).

For nonprofits, PayPal POS is a popular solution for:

  1. Taking contactless donations with a PayPal Reader

  2. In-store payments (if you run a shop)

Automatic data entry

With the PayPal POS app for Beacon, these payments are automatically added into your Beacon database:

Each payment added will be saved into Beacon, complete with full context about the payment that happened in PayPal Point of Sale:

Install guide

You can set up the PayPal Point of Sale app for Beacon within minutes.

  1. Go to Apps > Directory, and click Install on the PayPal Point of Sale app

  2. Next, connect your PayPal Point of Sale account with Beacon.

    You'll need to log in to your PayPal account to authorise the connection.

  3. After connecting, you can choose the fixed data that you'd like to set on the payments imported. This is useful for making sure that payments imported are categorised in your database in the way that works for you. For example:

  4. Click Save integration.

  5. That's it! PayPal Point of Sale payments will now be automatically imported. Go and try it!
