Beacon enables collection of payments via browsers through Stripe. Stripe is a world-leading payment gateway, built for simplicity and with a focus on ease of integration. Today it's used by leading charities including Oxfam, Unicef and Comic Relief.
Google Pay is one of the most popular browser payment systems. When browser payments are enabled you'll be able to accept Google Pay through the Chrome web browser.
Create a Stripe account and connect it to Beacon
To accept browser payments through Beacon, you'll need to connect your Stripe account to Beacon. Instructions for how to do this can be found in this article.
Enable browser payments in Beacon
You can enable browser payments in Beacon with just a few clicks.
Go to Settings > Payments in your Beacon sidebar
If you have not yet connected Stripe then follow these instructions to connect your stripe account.
In the Browser payments section of the Payment page check the Enable payments via browsers toggle. This will automatically configure your Stripe account to accept browser payments.
That's it!
If a donor has browser payments set up on a compatible device they'll now see browser payments as a payment option on your donation forms - powered by Stripe. When new donations come in, you'll see them in your Stripe dashboard.
Note: The payment options that are made available depend on the device and browser - for example Google Pay will show in the Chrome browser, and Microsoft Pay will show in the Microsoft Edge browser, if they have been configured.
