Beacon annual price increases
Beacon annual price increases

How your Beacon price changes over time.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Every year, the price of your Beacon subscription will increase by 3%. This change happens automatically on the 1st April.

Any bills sent 1st April onwards will automatically have the increased price applied.

Why the increase?

Like all other organisations, Beacon’s costs increase over time. Inflation goes up, and costs like staff, hosting, and utilities continue to rise.

We think it’s fair to share some of the increased costs with our customers, but we don’t increase our prices just to drive up our profit margin.

When will we be billed?

Your Beacon price will change on 1st April, but you won't automatically receive an bill then.

Instead, the price will affect any future bills that are sent out on or after this date.

Monthly billing

If you're paying monthly, the increase will automatically be applied to next month's bill. Here's an example:

You're on a monthly plan, paying £100/month. Your plan renews on the 15th of every month. On 1st April, your price will increase by 3% (£3), bringing your new subscription to £103/month. You won't be billed on 1st April. When your plan renews on 15th April, you'll receive a bill with the new £103 amount for the following month.

Annual billing

If you're paying annually, the increase will automatically be applied to your next annual bill. Here's an example:

You're on an annual plan, paying £1,000/year. Your plan renews every October. On 1st April, your price will increase by 3% (£30), bringing your new subscription to £1,030/year. You won't be billed on 1st April. When your plan renews in October, you'll receive an bill with the new £1,030 amount for the following year.

Changes during the billing period

If you make a change to your Beacon account during your monthly/annual billing period, Beacon will automatically bill you (or generate a credit). Our fair billing policy has more information about how this works.

Any new bills (or credits) generated will be at the new rate.

You're on an annual plan, paying £1,000/year. Your plan renews every October. On 1st April, your price will increase by 3% (£30), bringing your new subscription to £1,030/year.

At the start of July, you increase your "contacts", increasing your subscription (at the new rate) by £100/year, to £1,130/year. You still have three months left on your billing period, you'll be billed £100 x (3/12) = £25 for the remainder of your billing period.

In October, you'll receive an bill of £1,130.
