Beacon makes it easy for you to manage major gifts through their entire lifecycle.
It's likely that you will have to juggle quite a number of prospects at different stages of their gift journey. You'll have follow-up tasks, deadlines, and a pipeline of gifts of different values to report on.
With Beacon, you can store all of this information in one secure place, and easily see where you're at with the grants you're managing.
Creating major gifts
You can create major gift records in Beacon just like any other record. Navigate over to the major gifts tab in the sidebar, and click Add major gift.
As standard, you can specify many of the standard fields you'd expect to be able to set, like:
Amount (value)
Person or Organisation making the donation
An "owner" - someone responsible internally
Criteria for scoring how likely a prospect is to make a contribution
If you'd like to store additional data on your grants that isn't available out of the box, you can add additional fields to store the information. Read customising record types to learn more.
Managing major gift pipelines
It's important to keep on top of your pipeline of major gifts.
To help with this, we've built a pipeline view option, which makes it easy to visualise major gifts as they progress through the different stages:
Tip: to create a pipeline view based on major gift stage, pick the "stage" field as the "pipeline field" when creating the view.
